Breaking News for All Saints'

Social Media & Christian Living

This week we had a seminar at church about how we can think through how to be thoroughly Christian as we engage with social media. (If you missed it, check out the Talks section.)

I mentioned at the end two separate seminars that might help you continue to think through this:

  • Moore College Centre for Christian Living: Face to face or Facebook?
The evening of Monday the 20th of February at Moore College  — this is the big-picture thinking evening, of more on how to think through being a Christian online, and having the gospel influence all parts of our lives. It should be a blast.
  • Generation Next: Kids in cyberspace
This event is during the day on Friday 16th of March, concerning the various dangers and opportunities related to protecting kids online. Should be well worth it if you can make it.

Hope they’re useful.

Sam.

Ministry in 2012

We are all members of the body of Christ, called to use our talents, energy, time and resources to build up God’s people and be part of God’s mission in the world. It is amazing that God takes our humble efforts and uses them for his glory. Even the little things that perhaps go unseen are seen by God and count in his kingdom.

If you are a member of All Saints church, we’d love you to be part of what we are doing together. You may have received a paper copy of the 2012 ‘ministry form’ at church, or you can get a PDF here to fill out and return by December 31 2011. Alternatively, you can fill the form out and submit it online. Please prayerfully consider your ministry at church, and commit yourself to wholeheartedly serving God in 2012.

Interview with Tim Mildenhall

Recently it was All Saints’ Day, and the church took up a special collection to send to Broome Anglican Church. Sam Freney spoke to Tim about the flow-on effects from the recent mission team visit to Broome, his involvement with the People’s church, the church’s plans for the future, and some things to pray for:
