Growing Faith Family Conference

“…we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,

his power, and the wonders he has done.” Psalm 78:4

For those of us who are parents, we know that a big part of our job description as Christians is to help our kids know Jesus. This means praying for them, reading the Bible with them, bringing them to church, cornerstone, the zone, fresh and so on, and talking with them about the issues and questions.

Growing Faith is an excellent Australian resource for christian parents – including a free monthly eNewsletter full of really helpful stuff.

And Growing Faith are running their second annual Families Conference.

With an all-in time, parenting electives, kids’ & youth program and family fair, this one-day event is for adults, teenagers and kids and will leave you encouraged and uplifted as you seek to raise your family for Christ.

Time: Saturday, August 18, 2012
9:00am – 3:00pm

Location: St. Paul’s Castle Hills
421 Old Northern Rd, Castle Hill, NSW 2154

See Matt or Merryn if you’re interested in going.

Term 2 at Fresh: Worth Knowing // Worth Sharing

Did you know that the internet has something like 5 million terabytes of information? That’s a lot of stuff to know.

So what is really worth knowing? And what knowledge is really worth sharing?

We believe that God has spoken to us, and told us something worth knowing and sharing: that he is God, and that he loves us so much that he wants us to know him. He has done what it takes to make a relationship with him possible.

That’s worth knowing. That’s worth sharing.

So this term at Fresh, we’re looking at how to share that knowledge. And then in June, we’ll provide a bunch of opportunities for you to bring your friends along to Fresh, where they will hear those big truths.

KYCK 2012: Here I Stand

YouTube Preview Image

On the 20th-22nd of April, years 9-12 at Fresh are heading up to KYCK!

Living for Jesus can be tricky. So much is said against God and Christianity in general, that it can be hard to speak up, or even make our minds up about what is true. So with around 2,500 other teenagers, we’ll be hearing from the Bible (and two awesome speakers) about where and when we need to say, ‘Here I Stand!’, and where and when we can let things slide.

It will be a blast!

You can download your KYCK12 Permission Note right here. Print it up, tear off the keep bit, fill in the other bit, and get it to Matt ASAP!

We have 30 tickets available, so get in fast! This year, kyck is $130 (subsidies available). This covers tickets, accommodation and food.

Camp Revolution 2012: the movie.

Camp Revolution was excellent!

Sam & Josh Collis-Bird took a stack of photos and video during camp; here’s a video they put together for us. Thanks, guys!

Jesus: Relevant or Relic? Term 1 at Fresh

artwork by Hannah Power.

Our world is a big, busy place! There is so much important stuff in life … is Jesus – who lived and died over 2000 years ago – really that important? Is Jesus worth my time and attention? Is he relevant for our lives today, or a relic of the past?

This term at Fresh, we’ll be looking at Mark’s gospel. Mark’s answer is:

… well, you’ll have to come along to find out! We start this week, 7pm at All Saints. Bring your friends!
